The Tiki Bar Band
Playing the kind of music, new and old, that you would love to hear while sitting in your lawn chair sipping on a cold beer in your beach wear. The playlist includes hits from Jimmy Buffett, Zac Brown, The Beatles and Neil Diamond.
Coolin' out Band
Made up of former members of Bill Deal And The Rhondels and The Original Fat Ammons Band, Coolin’ Out began performing in 1988 and quickly gained a following. They received rave reviews in local papers and feature stories were done in The Virginian Pilot and Carolina Class magazine.
In 1989 Coolin’ Out released their first CD which sold out in local music stores in less than a year and reissues continue to sell today. Their second CD released in 2001 continues to sell and their latest CD was released in 2006.
The Main Event Band
The Main Event Band is the ultimate party band performing R&B, Soul, Beach, Country, and Funk. Their performances also include music styles from the 80's and 90's as well as your favorite songs of today. Featuring top-notch vocals, a tight rhythm section, and one of the best horn sections around, The Main Event Band offers a quality performance that is hard to rival.
Ben Phelps Project
The Ben Phelps Project is a five-piece band based out of Hampton Roads, VA. The band has its origins in the many diverse influences of its members. Everything from rock to jazz, country, blues and funk can be heard anytime the band hits the stage. A high-energy show driven by soulful vocals, tight rhythms and improvisational melodic interplay makes up the cornerstone of what the BPP brings to their audiences. Capable of performing all original sets or crowd-pleasing covers, The Ben Phelps Project provides their listeners with a concert experience not soon forgotten.
These country rock pioneers found platinum success early in their career. It can be easily argued that POCO first created the local combination of vocal harmonies, country instruments, and rock and roll rythms that became known as country rock. Four decades later, Rusty Young who wrote and sang the massive hits "Crazy Love" and "Heart of the Night" still leads this incredible band.
Alt-rock icons Cracker have signed with 429 Records and are preparing to unleash a collection of new songs, SUNRISE IN THE LAND OF MILK AND HONEY. Long-time musical co-horts David Lowery and Johnny Hickman have teamed up again with drummer Frank Funaro and bassist Sal Maida and along with stellar producer David Barbe (Drive By Truckers), have created a uniquely eclectic trove of new tunes. Well-worn words used to describe their sound—brash, irreverent, sharp-witted, anthemic and riveting—all descriptives are in full-effect on the new project that bursts with their trademark rock, punk, glam, surf and country aesthetic. Friends John Doe, Patterson Hood and Adam Duritz also make spirited guest turns on SUNRISE…Their 429 Records debut is in-stores on May 5 and the first single to radio is “Turn On, Tune In, Drop Out With Me” (April 7).
Keith Anderson could be the poster child for the notion that good things happen to good people. He’s quickly earned the reputation of being an adept writer of award nominated hits, not just for his own projects but for other artists as well and his good guy persona is as widely known as his high energy, let’s-get-this-party-started live shows.
Well-known for his top country hits "I Still Miss You" and "Pickin' Wildflowers," Anderson has had several singles on the Billboard Hot Country Song charts.
Mike Proffitt is a native of Virginia Beach, Virginia. He has been a professional performing musician in the Hampton Roads area for several years. The likes of Santana, James Taylor, and Eric Clapton are felt in the soulful array of Proffitt's material.His recordings have gained notoriety with local radio stations and listeners alike. His unique ability for writing around a "hook line" and expressing relationship minded lyrics, which people from all woalks of life can relate to, has earned him awards such as 3rd Round Semi-Finalist in Musician Magazine's 1997 "Best Unsigned Band" competition, WInner of the 1997 Tidewater Entertainer's Association songwriter's competition; and was the Winner of the 1999 Meona award for Best Male Performer in the Hampton Roads area. Currently Mike is performing in the Hampton Roads area, Richmond, and Nags Head, NC.
Long regarded as one of rock's legendary voices, Brian Howe started his career in 1983 as lead vocalist for Ted Nugent, recording Nugent's "Penetrator" album and fronting it's subsequent world tour.
In 1984, the 2 existing members of Bad Company - drummer Simon Kirke, and guitarist Mick Ralphs courted Brian to replace Paul Rodgers as the lead singer. Brian decided to accept the offer and continue the legend of Bad Company. This was not an easy task, but along with Kirke and Ralphs, Brian created, wrote, recorded and toured FOR THE NEXT 10 YEARS, headlining every major venue around the globe.
Right On "The World's Greatest Show Band!"
Right On Band is an authentic "Ten-Piece Show Band" with a full horn section. They have performed all over the world including Italy, Ethiopia, Canada, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and the Bahamas. They have had the honor of performing for each of the last three United States Presidents. They also have played for the US Congress at “The White House”, as well as other celebrities, dignitaries and heads of state around the world.
Joe Gosman Band
People are cleaning up their grills and inviting friends and family over. Kids are riding bikes to the creeks and building castles in their neighborhoods. Summer and fireworks are in the air. School is almost out, and so are the bathing suits. Life is all around us. It is in everything. We are all connected. We are not creatures of solitude but of community. The Joe Gosman Band is about bringing the community together.
Whether it is on a familiar street, a city festival, or at a local pub, the Joe Gosman Band can be found as a catalyst for great times. You can find them singing original songs that reflect on life in the flavor of rock and roll. Their music has been compared to that of: Matchbox 20, Bob Seger, INXS, and O.A.R.
Bigger Dream is a five-piece band that performs a variety of music from today’s modern hits to the great music from decades past. Consisting of musicians, who love performing “live” music for audiences to dance and sing-along with, Bigger Dream is appreciated for our variety, involving our audience, our singing and great sounding sound system. Established in Norfolk, VA, in 2002, Bigger Dream consists of Will and Deborah Gundersen (husband and wife, he plays Guitar and Sings, she is Lead Singer), Darick Felter (Drums), John Johnson (Bass and Vocals), and Rick Smith (Keyboards). Bigger Dream loves to play a variety of music from the oldies to today’s modern hits. Motown, Funk, Soul, Rock’n Roll we play it all.
I'm a native Texan replanted and grown in the Carolina Clay. I grew up around music, but abandoned the idea of a career in it when I left home and went to work. After moving to Norfolk, Virginia for a job, where he worked seven days a week, he purchased a cheap guitar and played in his spare time. From there, he became passionate about music and it continues today.
mOcean (mo-shun) is a four piece rock band based out of Virginia Beach, VA. The members consist of Nick Gargiulo (guitar/vocals), Jacob Caburian (guitar/vocals), Grant Hart (bass), and Clayton Sargent (drums). Recently, the introduction of Clayton Sargent and Grant Hart pieced together Mocean 3.0. The new band has recently started and are currently working on new material. Mocean 2.0 released a 5 song independent EP in January of 2011, along with another EP with Taylor Larson at Oceanic Recordings (Bethesda, MD) titled "How We Grew" in May of 2013. Much more is to come of Mocean, with hopes of taking our artistic level to a professional one.
