Volunteers
From the Spring Wine Festival to the last day of Boardwalk Weekend, the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival would not be possible without the crucial support of our volunteers! Beyond pure logistical assistance, Neptune Festival Volunteers bring a special atmosphere of community involvement, ownership, and fun to our events.
Any and all help is greatly appreciated – whether helping visitors at an information booth during Boardwalk Weekend, selling tickets at one of our Wine Festivals, or constructing a float for the Grand Parade, the work done by volunteers of all ages and skill levels is invaluable.
The need for volunteers is not limited to actually working at an event. There are plenty of opportunities to help out with planning, preparation, and general support in between events so we encourage you to sign up as a potential volunteer even if you cannot make it to one of the following events.

How can you volunteer?
Spring and Fall Wine Festivals
Greet attendees, collect tickets, hand-out wrist bands and even pour a little wine at our Spring and Fall Wine Festivals.
Craft Beer Festival
Talk about great beer and listen to live music while greeting attendees and handing out tasting glasses at our Craft Beer Festival!
International Sandsculpting Championships
Get a front row seat to our amazing sand sculptures as you assist visitors with voting and answering attendee questions.
Neptune’s Art & Craft Show
Hand out refreshments, staff our information booths or assist our 270+ fabulous artists with setting up and running their booth for the show.
8K Run
Cheer on our amazing runners while serving as a Course Marshall or assisting at packet pick-up, hospitality and water stops.
Grand Parade
From set-up to check-in and guiding participants and judges, this is a chance to be involved in one of our most beloved traditions!
Information Booths
Help visitors find their perfect experience, whether it’s a great food vendor, shopping in our marketplace, or finding the nearest free concert. The options are endless!
Poseidon’s Playground
Poseidon’s Playground is full of free and fun events for the whole family. Positions include answering questions, helping keep lines in order, and ensuring that everyone is having fun!
Neptune’s Healthy Haven
Calling our fitness fans! Monitor our Healthy Haven area, answer guest questions about the programming, and encourage participants to live their best life.
