The 46th Annual Neptune Festival Crowns Robert A. Broermann King Neptune XLVI

The 46th Annual Neptune Festival is delighted to announce Robert A. Broermann was crowned King Neptune XLVI at a ceremony held Saturday night at the oceanfront. Broermann will now enjoy a nine-month reprieve from daily shaving as he strives to grow the requisite beard needed to complete his kingly ensemble. King Neptune serves as the celebrated leader of the annual Neptune Festival events, as well as the City’s ceremonial goodwill ambassador throughout the year.

“Rob will be a wonderful King Neptune XLVI,” said Nancy Creech, President & CEO of the Festival. “He is an engaged community leader and has invested himself in making Virginia Beach a great place to work, raise a family and enjoy life. He exemplifies the characteristics needed for this iconic role and I’m predicting he’ll look spectacular in a beard!”

Robert A. (Rob) Broermann has served as Sentara Healthcare’s Chief Financial Officer since 2001 and is responsible for all aspects of Sentara’s financial management and its merger and affiliation strategy. The financial leadership of all Sentara’s operating divisions report through Rob, as well as all centralized Finance functions.

Active in his community, Rob currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the United Way of South Hampton Roads Foundation, President (Chair) of the Board for the Virginia Beach Education Foundation and a member of the Board of Samaritan House.

A Hampton Roads native, Rob was born in Norfolk and moved to Virginia Beach at the age of three. Happily married to Renee Roche Broermann for 35 years, together they have raised two children: Elise Broermann Cramer, a recent newlywed and CPA who lives in Virginia Beach, and Nicholas Broermann, a wonderful young man who unexpectedly passed away in 2014.

Rob earned both his B.S. in Accounting and MBA from Old Dominion University. He is a licensed CPA in the Commonwealth of Virginia and is a Fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association. Adam Michael Carroll | Wolcott Rivers Gates Adam M. Carroll is a native of Virginia Beach and graduate of First Colonial High School. Professionally, Adam is a litigation partner with the Wolcott Rivers Gates law firm and assists companies and individuals as they navigate commercial issues, encounter regulatory disputes with various federal, state and local governments, and, where necessary, defends criminal prosecutions. After law school, Adam returned to Hampton Roads where he takes great pride in helping those finding themselves in the unnerving environment of actual or threatened civil and criminal litigation. By chance in a condo parking lot, Adam met his future bride Kylene; now they are very busy raising three beautiful girls: 6-year old, Riley Marie, and twin 4 year-olds, Avery Renae, and Reese Harper. As an active family, Adam and the four blonde ladies spend most of their time golfing, exercising and enjoying the beach.

Anthony Joseph DiSilvestro | YNOT Italian
Anthony DiSilvestro is the CEO and founder of Ynot Italian established in 1993, Ynot Franchise LLC, and Ynot Build LLC in Virginia Beach and holds a Class A /CBC Contractors License. He attended Montclair State College concentrating in Economics and Business. Anthony is committed to the Tidewater community and currently sits on the boards for VBRA, Vison and also works with the Planning Commission sub committees with the City of Virginia Beach. He volunteers his time by lecturing and mentoring ODU students. He believes there is nothing more rewarding than helping others and encouraging them to be the best they can be.

Thomas Bradley Foster | Atlantic Homecare Services
Mr. Thomas Bradley Foster is President and owner of Atlantic Homecare Services with locations in Hampton Roads and Raleigh, North Carolina. Atlantic Homecare is an in-home healthcare provider serving infants to seniors with services including companion and personal care, adult and pediatric hi-tech skilled nursing, and medical staffing. A Virginia Beach native and graduate of Kempsville High School, Brad currently resides in Princess Anne Hills with his wife Ericka and their children Cannon and Bradley. Their eldest son Quenton currently resides in North Carolina where he manages the Raleigh office of Atlantic Homecare Services. Ericka and Brad, both graduates of Old Dominion University, also own and operate Pure Barre Fitness Studios in Virginia Beach and Norfolk and Brad is also the lead singer for local band ‘Breaking Brad.

Graham Glasgow Herbert | J.P. Morgan Chase
Graham Herbert serves as Vice President of JP Morgan Chase Middle Market Banking in Hampton Roads. Graham led the organization’s expansion efforts into the Hampton Roads market in 2017 and has been building a team to serve the diverse banking needs of commercial clients in the region. Graham received both his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, cum laude, and his Master of Arts in International Business, Concentration in Finance from the University of Florida. Graham lives in Virginia Beach and is married with two young children. He is very active in the Hampton Roads community, serving on multiple boards and participating in civic affairs and local and professional organizations.

James Robert Kibler, Jr | Virginia Natural Gas
Jim Kibler serves as president of Virginia Natural Gas, responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to approximately 300,000 homes, businesses and government installations in central and southeastern Virginia. A graduate of the University of Virginia and University of Richmond School of Law, Mr. Kibler proudly serves the Commonwealth and his communities by volunteering his time and leadership to boards and organizations that improve economic development, the environment, and education in Hampton Roads and beyond. Jim and his wife, Sara Catherine, both Virginia natives, live in Virginia Beach with their family.

Frederick John Napolitano III | Napolitano Homes
Fred Napolitano was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Upon graduating from Hampden-Sydney College, he spent some time traveling before settling back in Virginia Beach. Fred started his career at Capital Concrete, as part of the third generation of his mother’s family’s business. After a few years of learning the concrete industry, he was recruited to work at Napolitano Homes, where he currently is a Class A Contractor and Site Builder, managing various job sites throughout Virginia. Professionally, Fred is a member of the Tidewater Builders Association and represents Napolitano Homes on their internal trade council. When not on a jobsite, Fred enjoys being on the boat and traveling with his family- his wife Kate, daughter Lucy and golden retriever Corbet.

William Douglas Russell | Core Assurance Partners
Douglas Russell is President and a Founding Principal of Core Assurance Partners. Core Assurance Partners is an insurance, surety, and risk management firm based in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Doug and his wife Pixie reside in the Linkhorn area of Virginia Beach. They are both graduates of the University of Richmond and have been married more than 35 years. Their oldest son, Will and his wife Sarah Cottrell Russell, live in the North End of Virginia Beach. Their younger son, Jack, works in Washington DC. Doug is very active in the Hampton Roads community serving on multiple boards, charitable and professional organizations.

Louis Joseph Schager, Jr | Mosquito Joe
Lou joined the national franchising company, Mosquito Joe, as Chief Operating Officer 2017, and was named President shortly thereafter. He is responsible for over 145 franchises in 35 states. Prior to joining Mosquito Joe, Lou served as Vice President of Strategy for Reinvent Hampton Roads. Lou retired from the Navy after 27 years of service in 2016. He graduated from the Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN) and served as the Commanding Officer of an FA-18 squadron and Commanding Officer of Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach, Virginia. He is a 2015 graduate of the Hampton Roads CIVIC Leadership Institute and serves on the Boards of the Chesapeake Bay Academy, the Navy League of Hampton Roads and the Virginia Beach Military Economic Development Advisory Committee. Lou graduated with merit from the U.S. Naval Academy with a BA in Mechanical Engineering and earned a MA in National Security and Strategic Studies at the Naval War College. He and his wife Leslie are the proud parents of two sons, Griffin and Ryan.
